How It Works
Once you make contact with Gorilla Industries the team will start with a careful product evaluation. We will look at all the aspects of your product line. We will look at size, weight, complexity and production numbers. This will enable our team to start calculating the thermo-dynamics required to fully cure your entire line of products. Next we take color and finish requirements into consideration. Types of powders, Chemical make up of each powder and texture will play a big part in finish appearance and performance on you product.
Our racking manager gets involved to analyze your entire product mix current and future. Each product is evaluated on how to maximize best possible racking density, complete coating coverage with best possible Positive Cure for out standing coating performance. At this point it is important to consider how long it will take to completely and uniformly coat each type of part. And what type of coating system will be required.
The next consideration is cleaning and pretreatment. This is the most important aspect of your process and not to be taken lightly. Our Chemical engineer will look at the type of metals used in your production, the part configurations and condition of the part and components. Then the washer is design taking into account all the acquired information. Gorilla Industries does not endorse any one chemical company as each one has its own fortes as to cleaning and pretreatment. Our chemical engineer will work with you and all the suppliers to help select the best chemical supplier for your needs.
The dry off oven Thermo-dynamics will be calculated by our process engineer. He will take all of the information so far and calculate the required thermo-dynamics to insure complete drying of the applied wash coatings. The proper separation between dry off and powder application is crucial.
Powder booth design and type of powder application is as individual as your part manufacturing is. Gorilla Industries does not endorse any one coating process or gun, manual or automatic. Each powder gun manufacture has strong and week points, we will work to help you pick the best possible selection for your product line. The booth is design around your style of application and part sizes.
The curing oven, this is the heart of your process. You cannot rush this process; you can’t wish design an oven. It is important to understand what a full cross-link Positive Cure is and its benefit along with the benefit of full adhesion. There are a lot of oven companies that will tell you a good cure can be achieved in 15-20 minutes. In some rare occasions it can be achieved, but as a rule it can not. Then there is always the concern of growth and the need to increase your line speed. Your selection of powder will play a big role in this design as well.
